Team expansion: Welcome Sander!

Over the past few months, the team at Orchard Finance has expanded significantly. One of our new colleagues is Sander van Erp. Sander has been working as a Debt Advisory & Treasury Analyst for 6 months, so he has well and truly integrated into the Orchard team. Are you curious about Sander’s story and what it’s like to start as an Analyst at Orchard Finance? Keep on reading!

Who are you and can you shed some light on your background?

In September 2023 I started a new chapter of my life at Orchard Finance. Prior to my time at Orchard, I lived, studied and worked in Maastricht for seven years. I have recently moved to the picturesque village Langbroek, where I like to explore my beautiful surroundings. When the weather turns sour, I like to dive into a good book, and I can frequently be found in the local gym.

How were your first three months as Debt Advisory & Treasury Analyst?

My first three months were an exceptionally educational time. I was rapidly introduced to my new colleagues, and I was able to tag along on several projects right away. My new coworkers were very welcoming, which allowed me to easily adapt to the new environment.

What are you hoping to learn over the coming year?

I went from university to Orchard. Therefore, I’m hoping to get the opportunity to convert my theoretical knowledge into practical experience. Additionally, I’m looking to continue to develop my networking and soft skills with the help of Orchard.

Which elements of your work give you the most fulfilment?

I have always appreciated the opportunity to be able to contribute to a greater whole. Whether this means doing a complex analysis for a report or making preparations for my colleagues, if I can improve the final product or make a colleague’s day easier I will go home with a smile on my face.

How do you like to spend your weekends?

My weekends are quite varied. I greatly enjoy exploring the nature reserves, towns and castles in my new environment. On a rainy day I also enjoy working on improvements to my new apartment. What I enjoy doing most, is spending time with my friends and family.

Do you have a favourite sport, both to watch as well as to do?

I have been an avid gym-goer for a number of years. Whenever I leave the office, I always drop by my local gym before I go home. I have recently also started taking classes in ballroom dancing. On the weekends I like to go for the occasional run (if the sun is shining) or go for a walk. As far as watching sports are concerned, I have never been much of a fan. I have always preferred to pick up a ball with some friends and play the sport myself.
